Hardlessons – birds have tiny brains.
There you are… you’re finally away from your kids and your husband. They’re finally distracted and happy, building sandcastles on the beach. You want to be proud of your husband. For the first time on this trip, he really seems to be connecting to the kids, but you really don’t care. All that matters right now is that you are finally starting to relax. You’re just floating on your back in the warm Florida ocean. The waves lift you up and then drop you again. The water is such a perfect temperature, your senses start to cross as you close your eyes. You start to hear what you’re feeling and see what you’re hearing. For this one moment, you don’t have to worry about the kids, your husband, the mortgage… you are at one with the ocean. The thought creeps into your mind and whispers to your conscious self: “I’m going to live forever.” Wrong.
